FIA likely to arrest more members of PML-N social media team

ISLAMABAD - FIA had arrested two members of the PML-N social media team. Wajid Rasul Malik and Anwar Adil Tanoli were arrested from Rawalpindi on Thursday (October 19) for allegedly posting ‘objectionable and disgraceful material’ against Supreme Court (SC) judges, army and the ‘government’.
The first information report against the two workers maintains that they had been ‘illegally, unauthorizedly, dishonestly with malafide intention and ulterior motives uploaded, disseminate defamatory/objectionable and disgraceful material against the Honourable Judges of the Supreme Court, Armed Forces of Pakistan, Government of Pakistan etc’.
It also invokes articles 9, 10(a), 20 PECA2016 r/w 500, 501, 505, 109, 34 PPC against Wajid Rasul Malik who tweets @wajidrm and Anwar Adil Tanoli who tweeted at @TaN0li.
The FIR’s copy obtained by Daily Times further states that the ‘role of others will be thrashed out during investigation’. The experts believe that the investigation to thrash out the ‘role of others’ could possibly result in more arrests.
