Russian Army high level delegation visits Corps Headquarters Peshawar

*PESHAWAR - A six-member Russian army delegation led by Vice Admiral Osipov lgor Vladimirovich, visited Corps Headquarters Peshawar, said Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.*

The delegation during its visit of the headquarters called on Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General, Shaheen Mazhar Mehmood and discussed issues of mutual interests.

The Russian army delegation was briefed on Pakistan Army’s campaign against terrorism, situation and fencing along Pak-Afghan border, reads the statement released by ISPR.

Earlier, on arrival, Osipov lgor Vladimirovich laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada to pay tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan Army.

A Russian Army contingent on October 22, had arrived in Pakistan to participate in ‘Druzhba-III’, the joint military training exercise between both the countries, continued till November 4.

The 1st joint exercise between both the countries was held in Pakistan during 2016 while 2nd in Russia in 2017.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Navy will conduct a multi-national naval exercise ‘Amn’ early next year in Karachi.

This exercise is conducted every year since 2007 and is participated by forces of various countries from around the world.

Amn-2019 will also be participated by the forces of different countries under the slogan given by Pakistan Navy ‘United for Peace’.
