New Islamabad Airport inauguration announced
ISLAMABAD: New Islamabad Air Port which can house world's biggest commercial plane A-380 is going to be operational soon.
The New Islamabad airport will be made fully operational by August next year.
Construction work at the airport will be completed by the end of this year while another six months will be required for renovation work as well as for test flights.
The federal government has allocated Rs3 billion under Public Sector Development Programme for the year 2016-17 for construction of road network for the new airport.
The airport supports landing and parking of A-380 —the biggest passenger aircraft in the world.
The Islamabad-Rawalpindi Metro bus service will also be connected to the new airport to facilitate the passengers.
