Punjab government extends shopping time for the Eid Holidays

LAHORE - The Punjab government announced on Thursday to extend timings for markets and shopping malls in order to give more time to people for shopping ahead of Eid Al Fitr.
Provincial Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal in a video message that it was decided in a meeting of a provincial cabinet’s sub-committee on coronavirus that timing for markets have been extended till 10pm from previous 5pm.
The government had earlier allowed markets to continue business activities till 5pm in a bid to control spread of the coronavirus.
The minister further announced that all shrines will be reopened across the province from Friday and zaireen will be allowed to visit them around the clock.
Traders have appreciated the decision saying it will help them to overcome losses they suffered during lockdown.
Citizens also hailed the government announcement saying they will now be able to go for shopping after Iftar.
