Pakistan grabs 10 medals in Street Children Sports Championship in Rio

BRAZIL: Pakistan has grabbed 10 medals in Street Children Sports Championship in Rio De Janeiro including 3 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals in four events.

 

Pakistan’s Muhammad Naeem completed the 100m race in 15 seconds and 400m race in one minute to grab gold medals.

 

Naseer Ahmed and Mehr Ali grabbed silver and bronze medals in 100m hurdles event with 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

 

Mehr Ali has also represented Pakistan in the Street Child World Cup 2014.

 

Mehar ali won a gold medal in long jump and Muhammad Naeem secured second position with a silver medal.

 

Azad Foundation officials claimed that these three children belonged to poor areas of Karachi and prepared for the event with the determination to win medals for the country.

 

The event is hosted by Brazil and nine countries are participating in the event which includes Pakistan, India, Burundi, Egypt, Britain, Mozambique, Liberia and the Philippines.
