ISLAMABAD: (APP) Supreme Court on Tuesday issued notice to Attorney General over re-including model Ayyan Ali's name in Exit Control List (ECL).
The division bench of the apex court headed by Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed heard the case.
During the course of proceedings, Additional Attorney General Rana Waqar told the court that Ayyan Ali's name was removed from ECL on court directions in contempt of court case. He pleaded the court to void the Sindh High Court verdict.
The counsel for Ayyan Ali expressed resentment over including her name in ECL again and demanded SC to take action in this regard.
Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed remarked whether Ayyan Ali is a terrorist.
He asked that whether the names of all murder suspects and FBR defaulters in Punjab have been included in ECL.
Rana Waqar said that Ayyan Ali's name was put on ECL again on the request of Interior Ministry Punjab because she was nominated accused in the murder of Customs Officer Ijaz Mahmood.
Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed remarked that everyone is aware of the situation and it would not be wrong if interior secretary is sent to jail in this regard. He remarked that the court knows how to enforce orders however; they will not keep silence if the implementation is not done.
The court issued notice to AGP and adjourned hearing of the case for one week.
