ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed Pakistan's desire for a broad-based relationship with the United States that safeguards the two countries' interests and promotes win-win cooperation in areas ranging from the economy to trade and investment to energy and education.
He was talking to Republican Senator Lindsey Graham who called on him at Pakistan House in Washington today.
The Prime Minister apprised the US Senator of his government's development and economic priorities.
He said Pakistan has paid a high price because of instability in Afghanistan. Pakistan, the Prime Minister said, desires peace in Afghanistan and is fully committed to working with the United States in achieving a political settlement in the neighboring country.
