Congress Leader in lok Sabha asks for plebiscite in Indian Occupied Kashmir

ISLAMABAD (APP): Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the world are observing Global Kashmir Day, on Friday , to protest against the killing spree unleashed by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir.

According to KMS, Chairman All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, and other Hurriyet leaders Call including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik as part of the protests programmes against the killing of innocent people by Indian forces during the ongoing Kashmir Intifada have called for observing Global Kashmir Day on Friday and a march towards Islamabad town in the Valley .

The leaders in a joint statement in Srinagar also called for complete shutdown in the occupied territory on Saturday.

They said that on Sunday, complete strike would be observed in the day and blackout in the night while on Monday, besides observing total shutdown, a pulic meeting would be held in Islamabad town to pay tributes to the martyrs.

The APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, in a statement in Srinagar, thanked the government and people of Pakistan for observing Black Day against Indian brutalities in occupied Kashmir and raising the Kashmir dispute at the United Nations.

Meanwhile, in India, Congress leader, Jyotiraditya Scindia, initiating a discussion on Kashmir situation in Lok Sabha, called for holding plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Intifada was triggered by the extrajudicial killing of top commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, Burhan Wani, on 8th July. 49 people have been killed so far due to the firing of bullets, pallets and teargas shells fired by Indian troops and police personnel on peaceful protesters.

The leaders in a joint statement issued in Srinagar asked the Kashmiris across the world to hold rallies and protest marches wherever they live.
