Pakistan and Russia inch closer further on bilateral front

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and Russia inch closer further on bilateral front.

In a meeting between Russia s Deputy Minister of Energy, Anatoli Tikhinov and Pakistan’s Minister for Energy agreed to enhance cooperation in energy and other sectors.

Minister for Energy Omar Ayub has said that there are opportunities for investment in energy sector in Pakistan and country is also offering attractive incentives to investors to boost investment from which Russian investors can take full advantage.

He added that Pakistan could benefit from Russia’s experience and expertise in the energy sector.

He said that Pakistan Pakistan s World Bank ranking has climbed 28 notches as a result of measures taken to facilitate business and ensuring a conducive environment for business.

Russian Deputy Minister of Energy said that several Russian companies are keen to increase their investment in the energy sector in Pakistan and cooperation between Pakistan and Russia in the energy sector will increase.

The Russian delegation will attend the Seventh Pak-Russian Joint Cooperation Committee.
