Mobile phone imports in Pakistan register drastic rise in FY 2019-20

ISLAMABAD – Mobile phone imports in Pakistan register drastic rise in FY 2019-20.

Mobile phones imports increased by 69.25 percent from July to December, documents available with the media revealed on Wednesday.

Moreover, gold imports rose by 4.78 percent in the first half of the financial year FY20, imports of iron and steel scrap rose 5.32 percent in the same period.

Tea imports declined by 24.12 percent in first six months of the fiscal year.

Leather goods exports in the same period grew by 11.06 percent as compared to the exports of the corresponding period of the last year, according the data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

During the period from July-December 2019, leather goods worth $274,757 million were exported as compared to the exports of $247,397 million of same period of last year.

Exports of leather garments increased by 11.90 percent, about 585 TH. DOZ of leather garments valuing $150,551 million exported as compared to the 522 TH. DOZ worth $134,536 million of same period of last year.
