Federal government decides to shift PIA Head Office from Karachi

ISLAMABAD - Federal government has decided to move Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) head office from Karachi to Islamabad.

The decision was reportedly taken during a meeting earlier this month with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair.

The move is being made because the Aviation Division is in Islamabad. A final recommendation on the matter will be presented by the end of July.

As per reports, an immediate decision was not taken because the representatives from the aviation division including Director General of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) could not attend the meeting. ------------------------------

Formulation of a new aviation policy aiming to achieve profitability for PIA was also discussed during the meeting, the report said.

It is pertinent to mention here that the national flag-carrier has made several moves to regain its lost glory during the past few months.
