PAF defeats Sri Lankan Airforce in football series

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Wednesday clinched the three-match friendly football series against Sri Lanka Air Force team played at PAF Academy Risalpur.
PAF won the three-match series by winning two matches in a row, said a press release issued here.
The first match ended in a draw in which both teams failed to score a goal. However, in the second match PAF defeated the visiting team by 1-0. The third and final match was also won by PAF in which the hosts outclassed the visitors by 4-0.
The prize distribution ceremony was held after the last match of the series. Air Vice Marshal Imran Khalid, Air Officer Commanding PAF Academy Risalpur was the chief guest on the occasion and awarded prizes among the players and gave away the winning trophy to PAF team.
PAF's forward Sohail was declared the highest scorer, whereas Sri Lankan striker Prabeth was named the best player from his side. This series would strengthen the already existing cordial relation between the two countries in general and their Air Forces in particular.
The first leg of the series was played in Sri Lanka last year which was also won by PAF Football team.
