NAB arrests government officers over Rs. 60 million corruption case

PESHAWAR (APP): The NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wednesday arrested Executive Engineer (XEN), Highway Division Kurram Agency C&W Department

Faiz Muhammad and Contractor Nadir Khan for their alleged involvement in embezzlement of Rs 60 million.

A spokesman of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) KP said that FATA Development Authority (FDA) has allocated Rs 80 million for the construction of 6.5 km shingle road from Malota to Shagai and 3.5 km shingle road Daradar to Zora top which is a mineral bearing area having soapstone deposits.

The FDA has handed over the said work for execution to the Highway Division C&W Department Kurram Agency.

During the course of inquiry, it was revealed that the execution of the above said work has not been done, while fudge payment has been made on the account of the roads.

Thus, the accused persons in connivance with each other managed to embezzle more than 60 Million rupees and pocketed the same.

The accused persons will be presented in the Accountability Court Peshawar for obtaining their physical remand, he said.
