CM Sindh expresses dissatisfaction in APC over Centre approach for Census

KARACHI: Sindh CM Syed Qaim Ali Shah expressed his reservation over the approach of Federal Government for census and demanded the Center to address the reservation of Sindh because census is a matter of life and death for provinces.
As per details, Sindh CM chaired All Parties Conference (APC) in CM House here on Sunday. All religious, political parties of Sindh and representatives of civil society participated in APC.
The participants of APC unanimously passed resolutions and demanded federal government to form a comprehensive policy in consultation with the Provincial government regarding the census.
APC further demanded that the monitoring process of census should be handed over to the provincial governments and a joint monitoring system should be established in this regard. All the provinces should be given equal representation in census commission.
Raising the issue of census security, the participants demanded that the Army and Law Enforcement Agencies should be given responsibility of census security and monitoring.
Sindh CM Syed Qaim Ali Shah announced that in the light of these resolutions, Sindh government will present its stance in the next session of Council of Common Interest over the upcoming census.
