Sudden death of Sargodha University CEO in custody, New developments reported

*ISLAMABAD - New developments has been reported in the death of the Sargodha University former CEO.*
*A medical board has been formed to investigate the cause of death of Sargodha University, Lahore campus Chief Executive Javed Ahmed who died Friday night at the Camp Jail, Lahore. A postmortem examination will also be conducted today (Saturday). *
He had been arrested by NAB in a case relating to operating illegal campuses and was on judicial remand at the jail. Authorities at the jail say he died of cardiac arrest. However photographs of his handcuffed body sparked widespread outrage, leading to questions about inhumane conditions at jails.
The Punjab prisons IG has ordered an investigation into the incident and summoned an inquiry report.
The report will ascertain who put the handcuffs on him – jail authorities or the police – and whether he died at the hospital or jail.
