ISLAMABAD: The opposition once again staged a walkout from the National Assembly over the issue of not presenting the FATA Reforms Bill.
Earlier, PPP’s Naveed Qamar said that people’s hopes are dashed to gain political objectives. “We will not participate in the proceedings until the bill is presented in the assembly,” he said.
Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch said that the bill will be presented in the National Assembly soon. “The government will give rights to tribals,” he said.
The issue of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas’ (FATA) merger with KP is one of the pending matters for the incumbent government and has dominated the political discourse of the country in recent weeks.
