FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi vows to work for Dr Afia Siddiqui release from US

ISLAMABAD - Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi says Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government will address the water issue being faced the country.

Talking to media persons after offering Eid-ul-Azha prayers in Multan, he said the water shortage is a serious matter not only for Pakistan but for the whole region too.

The Minister said all the four provinces are agreed to the construction of Bhasha Dam.

As regards new provinces, he said two-third majority in the parliament is required for establishing new provinces.

About Dr Afia Siddiqui, the Minister said she is daughter of the nation and we have made discussion at all important fora over her issue.

To a question, he said the world is well aware about the atrocities being perpetrated by the Indian forces on the people in occupied Kashmir.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Pakistan wants to address the core issue of Kashmir in a peaceful manner through dialogue with India and hopefully the latter would reciprocate Pakistan’s offer for talks.

He said Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf has nominated Arif Alvi as President of Pakistan and added that Pakistan Peoples Party should also support PTI in this connection.
