Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan is currently entangled in a series of legal challenges. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has recently initiated a new case against him, alleging the improper use of telethon funds. NAB has begun an investigation into Khan's alleged mishandling of funds collected through a telethon, stating that approximately Rs4.32 billion was raised, but discrepancies in payments have been identified.
An application was submitted to NAB headquarters, originally seeking an inquiry into fund embezzlement. However, this request has been escalated to a full-fledged probe. Currently, Imran Khan is incarcerated in connection with a case involving the leakage of state secrets.
His judicial remand has been extended by a special court, and he is expected to remain in jail until September 26th.
Despite the suspension of a three-year jail term in the Toshakhana case, Khan remains imprisoned, facing a multitude of legal challenges, including charges related to blasphemy and terrorism. Recently, his judicial remand in the cipher case was extended until late September
