Emergency meeting called by Nawaz Sharif in London

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif had to hastily return to London just 48 hours after his recent arrival in Lahore, as revealed on Thursday.

On August 21, the former prime minister had traveled to London, where his elder brother and PML-N party leader, Nawaz Sharif, has been residing for the past four years following his conviction. Shehbaz had returned to Pakistan on Tuesday after spending at least a month in London. The news of Shehbaz's swift return was announced by PML-N's information secretary, Marriyum Aurangzeb, on the social media platform X.

The timing of the party president's visit aligns with that of PML-N vice chairperson Maryam Nawaz, whose trip was planned in advance. According to sources, Shehbaz's return was prompted by urgent matters that needed his attention.

These sources further indicated that during her visit, Maryam will address other significant issues and update the PML-N leader on the preparations being made for his eventual return to Pakistan.
