Indian paramilitary CRPF cordons Gilani's residence in Srinagar

ISLAMABAD (APP): All Parties Hurriyet Conference has said that Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has cordoned residence-cum-office of APHC Chairman Syed Ali Gilani at Hyderpora in Srinagar.

According to KMS, the APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said, "A large contingent of armed personnel of CRPF in vehicle has occupied the street at the main gate leading to Gilani's residence." The octogenarian leader is already under house arrest since 2010 and large contingent of police is already present outside his residence, the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, Syed Ali Gilani condemned the slapping of Public Safety Act on APHC Spokesman, Ayaz Akbar and JKLF leader Noor Mohammad Kalwal. They were lodged in Kotbalwal Jail, Jammu. He also denounced the continued detention of ailing Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, and other Hurriyet leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mohammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Advocate Zahid Ali and human rightist activist Khurram Pervaz.

On the other hand, the APHC said that Dr Naeem Gilani, the elder son of Syed Ali Gilani was being mentally tortured in police stations and Cargo." "Dr. Naeem Gilani is being repeatedly questioned and mentally tortured for the last couple of days in police stations and Cargo." The APHC condemned the police act.

This is for the first time that paramilitary CRPF has been deployed outside the residence, media reports said.
