'Constitution Avenue' to be made an exemplary road before SAARC conference

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry Tuesday said the 'Constitution Avenue' should be made an exemplary road of the federal capital before the SAARC conference.

He said this while chairing a meeting to review the progress of development projects of Capital Development Authority (CDA).

He said the Constitution Avenue should be well carpeted and have high standards of landscaping, lighting and pavements for pedestrians.

He said during the construction of signal free corridor of Islamabad, the guests who will come for the SAARC conference should be provided an alternative route.

Other roads of the city should also be kept according to standards maintained at Constitution Avenue, he added.

Dr Tariq Fazal also reviewed the development work of Park Enclave I-II and asked officials to speed up the pace of work.

He said the allottees of CDA Park Enclave should be handed over possession of plots immediately, hurdles in the way of timely completion of Kuri Model village should be ensured and development work of D-12 sector should be completed.

He said development work in sectors of C-15 and I-15 should be started and problems of locals living in these sectors should be resolved.

He directed that the development work which was delayed in different sectors of Islamabad should be initiated again.

He ordered that a new strategy should be made for payment of money to the affectees and handing over of possession of plots to the allottees.

Acting Chairman CDA Sheikh Ansar Aziz and members of CDA attended the meeting.

The participants of the meeting discussed in detail the projects of Bara Kahu bypass, cable car on Margalla Hills and construction of multi purpose club and received briefings from different wings of CDA.
