Former PM Nawaz Sharif makes important speech in Lahore Jalsa on return back to Pakistan

Nawaz Sharif, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo and former prime minister, made a significant return to his homeland after a four-year absence. He landed in Lahore after a journey from Islamabad, and upon arrival, he proceeded to address a gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore. This event marked a pivotal political moment in the country.

During his rally, Nawaz Sharif expressed his enduring connection with the nation, emphasizing that it remained unchanged despite his prolonged absence. He also touched upon personal losses, mentioning the impact of politics on his life. He spoke of losing his wife, Kulsoom Nawaz, to the world of politics and the additional challenges he faced with the loss of his mother and wife during legal disputes.

Nawaz Sharif highlighted several key achievements from his time in office, including the provision of cheap electricity to the people of Pakistan and his role in making the country a nuclear power. He also took credit for ending load shedding, a major issue in the country during that period. The former prime minister drew attention to the significant increase in the price of basic commodities, like roti, since his tenure and expressed his commitment to revitalizing Pakistan's economy.

The occasion of Nawaz Sharif's return to Lahore was marked by a chartered plane carrying him, accompanied by party supporters, leaders, and journalists, from Islamabad. PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and other party leaders, such as Hamza Shehbaz and Rana Sanaullah, extended a warm welcome to his brother at the Lahore Fort.
