Cracks appear in banned TTP terrorist group in Pakistan

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is in disarray due to increasing casualties at the hands of the security forces.

The informed sources have said that the TTP is getting divided into factions. The Mohmand, Swat and Bajaur factions are angry with the central leadership, and they are consulting to secede from the TTP.

One of the reasons behind the differences is the unfair distribution of resources. Apart from this, the central leadership gives priority to Mehsud and Wazir tribes in administrative matters.

The central leadership does not consult other groups on important matters. Using Afghan fighters for terrorism in Pakistan is also a cause of differences within the TTP.

In order to end these differences, Sheikh Gul Muhammad, the main leader of TTP Bajaur, and Dr Hamud of Swat held a jirga with Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud.

The Jirga failed due to Mufti Noor Wali’s refusal to accept the demands.
