Secretary General OIC and President IDB arrived In Islamabad for OIC conference

Secretary General of OIC Hissein Ibrahim Taha and President of Islamic Development Bank Dr Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser arrived in Islamabad on Monday morning to attend the 48th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation beginning tomorrow.
Both the dignitaries were warmly welcomed by Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib and Special Representative for Religious Harmony Allama Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi.
Talking to the state media on the occasion, Secretary General OIC Hissein Ibrahim Taha said the OIC session will discuss a host of issues including the challenges faced by the Muslim Ummah. He termed the adoption of resolution by the UN against Islamophobia an important step towards addressing this issue.
The President of Islamic Development Bank in his remarks said all possible steps will be taken to provide relief to our brothers and sisters in Afghanistan. He said a charter of humanitarian trust fund for Afghanistan will be signed today [Monday].
Farrukh Habib said the adoption of resolution by the UN against Islamophobia is a common achievement of the OIC countries.
The Foreign Ministers of Bangladesh, Tunisia, Bosnia, Somalia, Niger, Gambia and Côte d'Ivoire besides Deputy Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Libya , Malaysia and Mozambique have also arrived in Islamabad to attend the OIC meeting.
Permanent Representative of Maldives to OIC Mohemed Khalil and Bangladesh's Permanent Reprsentative to OIC Mohammad Javed Patwary have also arrived in Islamabad.
