Lahore Ring Road Southern Loop Project status update

LAHORE (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday visited Lahore Ring Road (LRR) Southern Loop Project and said he was pleased to see high quality and pace of construction work at 22.4 kilometer-long road of the LRR Southern Loop.

The CM expressed his satisfaction over pace of the project and said that the project would be completed within the stipulated period. He added that the latest transportation facilities played a vital role in development of a society and development projects helped in eradicating not only unemployment but also increase economic activities.

The Southern Loop would become a source for prospering socio-economic activities, he said. People would be benefited in terms of the latest transportation facilities and traffic system will be improved after the completion of 22.4 kilometer long Southern Loop project, the CM added.

The CM reviewed pace of construction work at different places of the project.

Director General FWO Lt Gen Muhammad Afzal also accompanied the Chief Minister. Shehbaz Sharif appreciated quality and pace of construction work while he also praised the working of Director General Lt Gen Muhammad Afzal and his team.

Shehbaz Sharif paid two hours long visit to the site of the project and reviewed the working from Komahan to Gajjumata and from Gajjumata to Raiwind Interchange of Lahore Ring Road of Southern Loop.

The chief minister was briefed about progress of construction work at Raiwind Interchange.

On the occasion, the chief minister expressed his views that standard and pace of the construction work at the Southern Loop project was an example of its own. Like all other projects of Punjab government, this project had also set standards in terms of transparency and quality and will be capital performance of the government that will be completed within classified duration.

DG FWO Lt Gen Mohammad Afzal welcomed Chief Minister at Site Office in Komahan and had one to one session with the chief minister, they presided a session at the FWO Komahan site office in which they were briefed about development and timeline of the Southern Loop project.

In the session, the CM said this was a mega project under the public private partnership of the Punjab government and FWO.

The chief minister also directed the Commissioner Lahore for horticulture around the project and said that best arrangement of tree plantation should be made along both sides of the Southern Loop.

DG FWO Lt Gen Muhammad Afzal also stated on the occasion that common people would be facilitated more after the completion of the project and added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Commissioner Abdullah Sumbal and his team had cooperated to the maximum for completion of the project.
