Nadra to provide CNICs before July 25

ISLAMABAD: Citizens who have applied for national identity cards before July 16 will get the CNICs before July 25 in the wake of upcoming elections.
National Database and Registration Authority has announced that its offices will remain open on Saturday and Sunday and even on the election day (till 2pm).
The decision was taken at Nadra’s high-level meeting on Friday presided over by its Chairman Usman Mubeen.
It was decided that CNICs of both normal and urgent category will be delivered before July 25 to those who have applied before July 16. Printing of CNICs will continue 24 hours a day, officials said.
Old and expired identity cards of the applicants will not be confiscated to enable them to cast votes, Nadra said.
The authority has directed courier companies to ensure the dispatch of ID cards on weekends too.
