New Mechanism for early redress of overseas Pakistanis' complaints

LAHORE: (APP) Additional Chief Secretary Punjab, Shamail Ahmad Khawaja, has directed the district administration all across the province to redress complaints of overseas Pakistanis on priority basis.
He issued these instructions while presiding over a meeting of Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC), Punjab, at Civil Secretariat, here on Wednesday.
Commissioner OPC Afzaal Bhatti, Director General Muhammad Hassan Iqbal, Additional DG (Police Matters)/DIG Cap (R) Ahmed Mubeen and Chairperson District Overseas Pakistanis Committee Gujranwala, Rauf Mughal were present on the occasion.
Afzaal Bhatti said that overseas Pakistanis are valuable asset of the country who are playing a key role in strengthening the national economy. They are the real face of Pakistan, who have earned a niche with their hard work and dedication. He said the main objective of the OPC was to provide a platform for solving their problems.
Shamail Khawaja said that there was a need for collective efforts to safeguard the rights of overseas Pakistanis and the role of district management crucial in this regard. He said that an effective strategy should be adopted for early disposal of revenue related cases of overseas Pakistanis.
Different complaints of overseas Pakistanis also came under discussion during the meeting and the official issued directions to address them.
