The United States and Turkey have agreed to continue to pursue a negotiated settlement for northeastern Syria.
White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said US President Donald Trump in a telephonic conversation with his Turkish counterpart Tayyip Erdogan stressed the importance of defeating terrorist elements in Syria.
