Pakistan and Russia decide to further enhance bilateral ties
ISLAMABAD - Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi yesterday said that Pakistan aimed at multiplying cooperation with Russia.
In a meeting with Russian Presidential Envoy for Afghanistan Ambassador Zamir Kabulov here, Foreign Minister Qureshi welcomed Ambassador Zamir Kabulov and conveyed best wishes for Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
“The exchange of views covered recent developments especially with regard to the Afghan peace process,” said a foreign ministry statement.
The foreign minister noted that both Pakistan and Russia had convergence of views on matters of mutual interest including an inclusive political settlement of the conflict in Afghanistan.
The foreign minister underlined that Pakistan had consistently supported the Afghan peace process.
