PM Imran Khan appoints new Attorney General of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday has approved the appointment of Khalid Javed Khan as the new Attorney General of Pakistan.
The President approved the resignation of Anwar Mansoor.
According to details, PM Imran Khan has directed the Law Ministry to prepare a summary of Khalid Javed Khan's appointment today, while the summary will also be forwarded to President Arif Alavi on the same day.
On the other hand, the President approved the resignation of Anwar Mansoor. The President will appoint the new Attorney General on the direction of the Prime Minister.
It is pertinent to remember that the former AGP tendered his resignation after Pakistan Bar Council asked to leave the position over his controversial remarks against the Supreme Court judges during the hearing of Justice Qazi Faez Isa case.
Hailing from Karachi, Javed had earlier served as legal advisor to the AGP during the second tenure of martyred Benazi Bhutto.
He got his law degree from London University with other law-related degrees from Oxford University and Harvard University.
