Pro-regime forces enter Syria's Afrin region: monitor

Beirut:A convoy of pro-government fighters entered Syria's Afrin region on Tuesday, a monitor said, as Turkey pressed its assault on the Kurdish-controlled enclave.
"Hundreds of fighters entered the Afrin region on Tuesday afternoon," said Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Syria's state media had said on Monday that pro-Damascus forces would head to Afrin to "join the resistance against the Turkish aggression".APP/AFP
