Punjab government sends summary for requisition of "Rangers in Punjab"

LAHORE: Rangers are finally in Punjab as the government ultimately surrendered to the long standing demand of the Security Forces and the opposition parties for an indiscriminate operation against the terrorists and the sectarian elements.
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has sent a summary to Governor Punjab Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana for deployment of Rangers in the province.
In a statement, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said the Rangers have been called to be deployed for sixty days.
He said Rangers will be provided powers under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
He said apex committee will decide about areas of the proposed operation.
