In Occupied Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani has strongly condemned indiscriminate use of pellets against civilians by Indian forces in the held valley.
In a statement in Srinagar, he said Kashmir is the only place in the world where weapons like pellets are used against human beings.
Syed Ali Gilani said people everywhere in the world come on roads to express their anger and dissatisfaction and register their protest but nowhere law enforcing agencies use lethal and deadly weapons against their own people.
The APHC chairman said resistance leaders are caged and detained on one pretext or the other and even barred from mourning the killings.
Meanwhile, the police have admitted that pellets fired by Indian army are violation of the standard operating procedures governing crowd control.
The acknowledgement has been made in a communiqué issued by Inspector General of Police Muneer Khan to all senior superintendents of police deployed in the occupied territory.
The communiqué reads that pellets are fired above the waist and sometimes on the faces which is completely against the prescribed SOP devised for the use of pellet guns.
