British High Commissioner Thomas Drew extends Eid greetings to Pakistanis

*ISLAMABAD - British High Commissioner to Pakistan Thomas Drew has extended Eid greetings to Muslims in Pakistan and across the world.*

In a video message in Urdu, he remarked: “Asalam Alaikum, a lot of my Muslim friends will celebrate Eid-ul-Azha in the next few days. I am at a cattle market in Islamabad where I am delighted to see many people purchasing their animals.

“Similarly, many people in the UK, Pakistan and Muslims across the globe are celebrating Eid. On behalf of the British High Commission, I would like to wish a heartiest Eid Mubarak to everyone.”

The envoy shared the video on social media with the message: “Best wishes to everyone celebrating #EidAlAdha this week – in Pakistan, the UK and around the world.”

Eid-ul-Azha is being celebrated today in Saudi Arabia, Middle East, Gulf countries, Afghanistan and some other parts of the world. The holy festival involves slaughtering animals marking the end of the Hajj pilgrimage to Makkah and in commemoration of Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) readiness to sacrifice his son.
