Pakistan makes big investment offers to Chinese Companies

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan makes big investment offers to Chinese Companies.

Pakistan has invited Chinese companies to take advantage of incentivesoffered by the government for investment and set up solar panel and lithiumbattery manufacturing units in the country.

According to the details, the offer was made by Minister for Science andTechnology, Fawad Hussain Chaudhry at a meeting with CEO of MERA PCSolutions in Beijing.

The Minister said that Pakistan has huge potential in solar and lithiumbattery manufacturing and there are great opportunities for exports toAfrica, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Afghanistan. He said thegovernment will provide all facilities including land, technical supportand human resource besides joint venture opportunities to Chinese companies.

He said that Chinese companies should diversify manufacturing in Pakistanas the government wanted to enhance production and exports.

We are switching over from the services to production in the country.

He stated that the government is also keen to build an agro-mechaniccomplex to enhance agriculture products in the country adding,

We will have 45 percent shares while the remaining shares will be owned bythe private companies.

The CEO briefed the minister that his company had set up a number ofprojects especially in the power sector in Pakistan during the last 35years. He added that his company is also involved in agriculture, solar andpre-fabricated houses.

The company will also ensure the transfer of technology to Pakistan andhelp increase the local production and exports, said the CEO.

The minister will hold a meeting with his Chinese counterpart and discussways to further enhance bilateral cooperation in science and technologybetween the two countries.
