ISLAMABAD – Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister, Fawad Chaudhryhas said that China has been taken into confidence over the inclusion ofSaudi Arabia in the mega China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

Chaudhry said this while sharing views on twitter on Friday. He confirmedthat the expansion of CPEC was in the interest of China and Pakistan.

He added that Pakistan will be a centre of economic activity of thisregion, era of darkness is over.

Chaudhry’s tweet came in response to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leaderand former interior minister, Ahsan Iqbal’s query about whether the Chinesehave been taken on board over the expansion of CPEC projects.

A day earlier, the Information Minister had announced that the governmenthad extended an invitation to Saudi Arabia to become the third partner inthe CPEC plan.
