Imran Riaz Khan case: Positive development reported

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has extended the deadline until September 26 for Punjab's Inspector General (IG) to locate anchorperson Imran Riaz.Present at the high court hearing were IG Punjab Usman Anwar, as well as AIG, DIG, and other police officials.

The high court bench, led by Chief Justice Ameer Bhatti, heard a petition from the missing journalist's father, who has been seeking his son's recovery since his arrest in Sialkot on May 11. Chief Justice Ameer Bhatti warned that if Imran Riaz is not produced in court by the specified date, a court order will be issued, expressing frustration with the delay.

The petitioner's lawyer also voiced impatience and requested a 24-hour ultimatum. The IGP requested more time to comply with the court order, but the chief justice reminded him that they had already granted five months for this matter.

In a previous hearing, the Punjab police chief had given 13 days for Imran Riaz's recovery, promising "good news in the next 10 to 15 days.
