PMD to strengthen monitoring network and early warning system

ISLAMABAD - The Senate was informed on Wednesday that the government has approved proposal of Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) for strengthening of Monitoring Network and Early Warning System.
Replying to a question during question Hour, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab informed the House that objective of the proposal is to improve the density of monitoring network of PMD.
He said that five Regional Meteorological Centers of PMD located at Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar and Gilgit-Baltistan have been set up for provision of climate services throughout the country.
