The U.S. Department of State issued a statement on Friday, stating that they have imposed sanctions on three Chinese companies that are involved in providing equipment related to missile preparation for Pakistan's ballistic missile program.
The statement, released by the U.S. Department of State spokesperson Matthew Miller, emphasizes the U.S.'s commitment to strengthening the global non-proliferation regime for nuclear weapons, aiming to counter actions by networks supporting concerning activities related to the spread of nuclear proliferation.
According to the statement, "Today, we are designating three entities under Executive Order (EO) 13382. This designation targets entities involved in proliferation or otherwise attempting to engage in activities or transactions that pose a risk of enabling or contributing to the spread of weapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery, including items used in the manufacture or use of such weapons."
The U.S. Department of State specified that these three companies are General Technology Limited, Beijing LuLu Technology Development Company Limited, and Changzhou Yu-Tech Composite Company Limited.
The statement further mentions that General Technology Limited provided materials used in the production of ballistic missile rocket engines and combustion chambers, while Beijing LuLu Technology Development Company Limited supplied cylinders and other machinery used in making solid propellant rocket motors, which can be used in missile technology control regimes.
