In Islamabad, Senator Ishaq Dar of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz made an announcement on Friday regarding the return of Nawaz Sharif, the party's leader and a three-time prime minister. Senator Ishaq Dar mentioned that Nawaz Sharif is expected to spend an hour in Islamabad following his arrival from the UAE.
Nawaz Sharif, who has been in self-imposed exile since 2019, departed for London while serving a seven-year jail sentence on medical grounds. The senior Sharif is scheduled to return to Pakistan via Dubai on October 21.
During an informal media interaction in Islamabad, Ishaq Dar addressed the notion that Nawaz Sharif was receiving 'favors' and emphasized that the courts had issued verdicts on his pleas in accordance with the law. He stated, "Nothing unusual occurred."
Ishaq Dar also noted that, for security reasons, he could not confirm the precise location where Nawaz Sharif's aircraft would land. He further mentioned that the former prime minister intends to depart for Lahore after spending approximately an hour in Islamabad upon his arrival.
