Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed fans gather outside his residence demanding to make him captain once again

KARACHI - Dozens of fans on Sunday gathered outside Safraz Ahmed’s residence in Karachi and demanded to make Sarfraz Ahmed skipper of the national team again.

The decision to sack Sarfraz Ahmed has attracted mix reactions. Some people have widely hailed the decision while others have lambasted it citing Sarfraz record as captain in T20I.

Alleging that Sarfraz has been subjected to discrimination, the protesters demanded to restore him as captain of the national team at earliest.

Following Pakistan team’s dismal performance against Sri Lanka, Sarfraz Ahmed was sacked as Pakistan captain.

Sarfaraz was also dropped from both the Test and T20I sides.

A press release issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) stated that Azhar Ali will lead the side in Test matches, while Babar Azam has been appointed the new T20I captain.

Azhar Ali has been made the Test captain for the World Test Championship in the 2019-20 season, while Babar Azam will lead the side in the shortest format shortest until next year’s ICC T20 World Cup Australia 2020.
