Karachi: A new reserve of oil and gas has been discovered in Sujawal, a city in the province of Sindh.
According to ARY News, a reserve of oil and gas has been found in the Shah Bandar area of Sujawal, originating from shared wells of PPL (Pakistan Petroleum Limited) and Mari Petroleum. The wells are expected to yield a daily production of 13.69 million standard cubic feet of gas.
PSX (Pakistan Stock Exchange) mentioned in a statement that daily production from the wells will include 236 barrels of crude oil, while it is the second time that oil and gas have been found in the Shah Bandar area. Last month, in Sindh, a significant gas discovery was made in the Zin Block Well 11, with a flow of 11 MMSCFD (Million Metric Standard Cubic Feet per Day), and Mari Petroleum had dug a well 1016 meters deep in search of oil and gas.
It's worth noting that last year, in June, a major oil and gas field was made operational in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and production from the Well 1 in the Lucky Marwat district had commenced, producing 1,000 barrels of oil and 10 MMSCFD of gas daily.
The OGDCL (Oil & Gas Development Company Limited) had stated that the field would be connected to national production within 24 hours, and production from two more wells in the field would start soon.
