Intelligence-based operations carried out across Punjab led to the apprehension of seven individuals suspected of terrorism, among them a significant commander associated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

These operations spanned various districts, including Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Pakpattan, and Sahiwal. The arrest of Salman, a prominent TTP commander, unfolded in Bahawalpur.

Subsequent searches of the detained individuals revealed the confiscation of explosive materials, weapons, and items required for the production of suicide jackets. Law enforcement authorities asserted that the arrested individuals had purported plans to target sensitive installations.

This recent development comes on the heels of a week marked by intensified security efforts, resulting in the arrest of 132 suspects and the interrogation of 46,467 individuals through 1,136 combing operations.
