India: violent clashes break out in West Bengal in final phase of election

NEW DELHI: In India, violent clashes broke out in West Bengal in the final phase of the Lok Sabha election.
The police used batons to break up skirmishes between supporters of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and the regional Trinamool Congress party in Kankinara in Kolkata.
Police said several crude bombs were also exploded during the clashes.
