KP Governor Ghulam Ali faces contempt of court plea

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ghani has filed a contempt of court petition against KP Governor Haji Ghulam Ali in the Supreme Court on Monday.
It way prayed in the petition that despite apex court’s orders the governor has failed to give a date for holding general elections in the province.
Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has also been made respondent in the case.
Earlier, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has decided to file a contempt petition against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor in the Supreme Court for not obeying the court orders regarding holding elections in the province.
The PTI lawyers have prepared a detailed application to be submitted in the apex court.
Former speaker of National Assembly link Qaiser, former provincial education minister Taimoor Jhagra, and Shaukat Yousafzai will go to the court to submit the plea along with the PTI legal team.
In its next move against the KP governor, the PTI will prepare a case to take legal action against the governor under Article 6 of the Constitution.
