MUZAFFARABAD: (APP) The Returning Officers have completed scrutiny of the nomination papers filed by the candidates for up-coming AJK election after which, a total 625 candidates are left in the run while nomination papers of 35 candidates were rejected.
According to the Election Commission, a total number of 660 candidates had filed nomination papers out of which 625 were accepted by AROs while 35 were rejected due to different reasons.
519 candidates for nomination papers on 29 seats with in AJK territory while 134 candidates filed nomination papers on 12 refugee constituencies.
After the scrutiny, 491 candidates were left on 29 legislative Assembly seats located within Azad Kashmir territory while 134 candidates are contesting on 12 refugee constituencies for Kashmiri refugees settled in Pakistan after the rejection of 28 and 7 nomination papers respectively for both categories.
The candidates can file appeals against acceptance or rejection of the nomination papers at the office of chief election commissioner till June 22, hearing of those, would be conducted on June 23 and 24.
