National Men's, Women's Open Swimming Championship in Lahore

LAHORE: (APP) Country's top male and female swimmers will display their talent and technique during the National Men's and Women's Open Swimming Championship being held here from July 29 at DHA Pool.
All the affiliated units of Pakistan Swimming Federation will field their best swimmers in the three-day meet, said Veena Masud, Secretary, PSF here on Tuesday.
She said both the events will serve as trials for picking up new talent to represent the country in the international vents including, Asian Swimming Championship in Japan in November and World Short Course Swimming Championship in Canada in December.
Secretary PSF said the participation of Pak swimmers in two major events will expose them to high profile swimming experience besides boosting their confidence to attain good results in coming events abroad.
"It is a way to groom young swimmers and PSF is taking every measures to impart best possible training by arranging training camps at home and to ensure their participation in international swimming events abroad," she added.
She said keen competition is likely to be witnessed during the national championships and the most outstanding players will be short listed to form Pak teams.
