FPCCI-LCCI collaboration for business growth

LAHORE (APP): Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) would share research for the economic wellbeing of the country.
Office-bearers of both the chambers decided this in meeting here at FPCCI regional office on Tuesday. The meeting also discussed various matters of mutual interest and also prayed for good health of LCCI President Sheikh Muhammad Arshad.
On this occasion, the FPCCI Regional Chairman and Vice President Mian Rehman Aziz stressed the need for maximizing interaction between the FPCCI and its constituent trade bodies to resolve the issues faced in trade and industry.
He said that there was dire need to jointly work for improving Pakistan's perception that has been tarnished by the enemies of the country for their ulterior motives. To achieve this goal all the chambers of commerce and industry of the country and the trade bodies would have to work hand in hand.
He added that LCCI was achieving various milestones under the dynamic leadership of Sheikh Muhammad Arshad and SVP Almas Hyder. The Chairman added that today's meeting was specially arranged to broaden and deepen economic ties and identify areas of cooperation in trade and investment.
The LCCI Senior Vice President Almas Hyder said that FPCCI was an apex body of business community. It always served as a bridge between the private sector and the government. Highlighting the issue of communication gap, he said, "We should strengthen our linkages and a proper communication mechanism may also be developed."
While, the LCCI Vice President Nasir Saeed said that both institutions should jointly work for business community issues especially budget proposals, tax matters and LDA's land rezoning issues etc.
SAARC CCI Vice President Iftikhar Ali Malik said, "We should work hard for economic development. SME sector should be focused and export houses should be established all over the country."
FPCCI VP Syed Aasim Shah said that government should support business community, while LCCI, FPCCI and other prominent chambers should collectively work to voice the collective opinion of business sector.
