Pakistan lift sanctions against Iran to revive trade and commercial ties
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has lifted all sanctions against Iran to revive trade and commercial ties.  The decision was taken as per resolution of Security Council of United Nation.

 

As per details, Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar chaired inter-ministerial meeting in which the decision was taken to lift the sanctions against Iran. The notification to lift the sanctions was issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

According to the Ministry, all the previous notifications have been null and void after the issuance of new notification. Pakistan welcomed the agreement between Iran and other 5 countries while Pakistan can trade with Iran openly after lifting sanctions.

 

Finance Ministry added that commercial and trade ties will revive and strengthen between both countries while Pak-Iran investment will be helpful to restore the relations in the field of technology, banking and energy.

 

It is also worthy to mention that the restrictions had been imposed on Iran over concerns of its nuclear programme by United Nations. However, United Nations announced to lift the sanctions after the nuclear agreement between Iran and US, European Unions.
