FIA transfers two officials to Gilgit and Taftan, who arranged meeting of Asif Zardari with Anwar Majeed: Report

KARACHI - The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has transferred two officials, who had on Sunday arranged a meeting between former President Asif Ali Zardari and Anwar Majeed – the latter being hospitalized after chest pain in National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) – to Gilgit and Taftan border, a senior official told.
Two FIA officials naming Inspector Rehmatullah Domki and Sub-Inspector Habib-ur-Rehman, on Sunday arranged a meeting of Zardari with his close aide.
Majeed was arrested from Islamabad after Supreme Court turned down his bail plea and was subsequently transferred to Karachi. But Majeed was given into seven-Day FIA remand he complained of chest pain and was admitted to NICVD for treatment.
Since, Majeed is in the seven-day custody of FIA he was supposed to not meet anyone, the official told and added that “taking notice of the meeting Director General FIA Bashir Memon transferred Domki to Gilgit and Rehman to Taftan border”.
Domki confirmed to the Frontier Post that he has been transferred to Gilgit but claimed that he was not on duty during the meeting, if any has happened.
Zardari is co-accused in mega-money laundering case with Anwar Majeed and several others.
